2023 Manissy Terres Blanches – Orange peel and floral notes dominate the perfume. On the palate, the medium-bodied palate is vibrant, energetic, and loaded with cherry griotte, olives, cocoa, and crushed rocks. If you did not know, Chateau de Manissy is one of the top producers of Rose’ in Tavel. Drink from 2027-2038. 91 Pts
2023 Maravilhas Espirito – Flowers, olives, garrigue, and tart berries form the nose. The medium-bodied palate is chewy with a strong olive, pepper, and herbal component accompanying the black raspberries and spice in the finish. 2023 Marcoux Chateauneuf du Pape – Cherries, and kirsch define the nose. The palate is defined by its medium-bodied, fresh display of kirsch, cherries, and cocoa that finishes with a touch of orange rind that comes in at the backend of the finish. Drink from 2026-2035. 92 Pts
2023 Marcoux Vieilles Vignes – Dark kirsch, cherries, raspberries, and spice, with a barely noticeable note of cocoa in the perfume. The palate is awash in layers of sweet, ripe, elegant, sensuously-textured red fruits that, with their sense of purity, taste as good as they feel. The wine is made from 100% old vine Grenache. 2023 Mas Grange Blanche la Font de Bessounes – Flowers, thyme, oregano, and kirsch notes fill the perfume. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, soft, and fresh, with a kirsch-filled personality. 2023 Mas de Boislauzon Chateauneuf-du-Pape – Meaty, peppery floral, and fennel notes find their way into the perfume. On the palate, the wine is soft, lush, round, and concentrated with loads of ripe, red fruits, spice, and peppery nuances from start to finish. 2023 Mas de Boislauzon Cuvee du Quet – Smoky, meaty, spicy, floral, and herbal, with dark red fruits is what you will find in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is lush, round, concentrated, deep, and intense. The dark fruits linger and expand on your palate. This is quite stylish with a finish that holds on and builds. This should age quite nicely. The wine blends mostly Grenache with varying amounts of Mourvedre, depending on the vintage. Drink from 2025 – 2040. 96 Pts
2023 Maucoil Chateauneuf-du-Pape – The fruity nose, with its raspberry and strawberry notes, is already easy to find. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine continues to focus on its red berry profile, with softness and early-drinking charm. This will drink well and offer pleasure on release. 2023 Maucoil Parcelle Le Pin – With just a single swirl, you find its kirsch and floral essence. The medium-bodied, fresh, spicy, refined, and fruity palate comes along with a peppery accent that gives a lot of energy to the wine’s sweet, ripe fruits. This will drink well young, as well as offer the ability to age, and develop. The wine was produced from 100% old vine Grenache. Drink from 2027-2039. 94 Pts
2023 Maucoil Privilege – Black, with red raspberries and flowers, pop easily in the perfume. Forward, medium-bodied, lively, and with a touch of cocoa adding richness and more roundness on the palate, this is good to go on release. The wine was produced using a Grenache-dominated blend that includes Syrah, Mourvedre, and several other assorted red and white grape varieties. Drink from 2026-2033. 91 Pts
2023 Maucoil l’Esprit de Maucoil – Medium-bodied, vibrant, and packed with green olives, garrigue, peppery spice and bright red fruits, the wine is fresh, vibrant, and crisp, with an olive edge to the fruit in the finish. 2023 Mont Redon – Quite floral in nature, with spice, licorice and kirsch to round out the perfume. On the palate, the wine is elegant, fresh, and refined, with lift, and sweetness to all of its fruits in the finish. The blend is 55% Grenache, 32% Syrah, and 12% Mourvedre, and various other allowable grape varieties. Drink from 2026-2036. 92 Pts
2023 Mont Redon Le Plateau – Incense, dark cherries, cocoa, flowers, and herbs create the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is sweet, juicy, and fresh, with layers of supple-textured, elegant, black cherries, herbs, and dark chocolate. Produced from a blend of about 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. There is a plushness and polish here along with nice darkness to the fruits that resonates on the palate and in the finish. The wine is aged in 30% new oak, 20% used oak barrels and the remaining 50% of the wine is aged in tank for up to 36 months before bottling. The wine needs a few years before pulling a cork allowing the wood to better meld into the wine. Drink from 2027-2040. 95 Pts
2023 Mordoree Cuvee de la Reine des Bois – Black cherries, chocolate, flowers, and spice pop in the nose. On the palate, the wine is rich, round, creamy, fat, and supple, with a smoky edge to the dark black cherries and jammy strawberries in the finish. 2023 Mordoree La Dame Voyageuse – Flowers, and cherries form the core of the perfume. On the palate, the wine is ripe, round, and chocolatey, with juicy cherries to finish everything off. 2023 Panisse Le Mas – Lusty aromas of cherries, flowers, smoke, and raspberries emerge in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is juicy, round, supple, and filled with black raspberries, garrigue, olives, kirsch, and black cherries. Polished and precise, it is already showing well and will continue to improve. The wine is a blend of about 55% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvdre, and 5% Cinsault. Drink from 2026 to 2039. 94 Pts
2023 Paul Autard La Cote Ronde – Espresso, incense, coffee bean, and wood aromas are what you initially notice before getting to the all of the sweet, ripe, lush, dark red fruits. But the wine is prominent on the palate and in the perfume. From a blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah, the wine is aged in 50% new, French oak barrels. This is one of the more modern-styled Southern Rhone wines. So, you are either going to love it, or not. Drink from 2026-2036. 90 Pts
2023 Pegau Blanc Cuvee Réservee – Flowers, lemon, lime, orange, pineapple, white peach, and hay create the perfume. Round, sweet, fruity, and lush, this is going to be delicious on release. Drink from 2025-2029. 93 Pts
2023 Pegau Cuvee A Tempo – Spicy, with flowers, sweet pineapple, ripe citrus, and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is rich, supple, sweet, opulent, and also surprisingly fresh. Drink from 2026-2030. 95 Pts
2023 Pegau Reservee – The wine opens with notes of violets, jammy strawberries, and kirsch in the aroma. On the palate, it is even more impressive. It is fresh, pure, lively, and layered with spices that complement the waves of dark cherries, black raspberries, and cherries. The concentrated finish lingers, with a refreshing hint of mint on the backend that kicks in just as you think it’s over. The wine is a blend of 80% Grenache, 6% Syrah, 4% Mourvèdre, and various other AOC-approved grape varieties. 14.8% ABV. Drink from 2027-2042. 96 Pts

2023 Roger Sabon Cuvee Prestige – Luscious layers of chocolatey black cherries, strawberries, and kirsch grab you from the perfume to the palate. Round, soft, supple, and sweet, the wine is already deceptively easy to drink and enjoy. 2023 Roger Sabon Le Secret des Sabon – The wine bursts onto the palate with its vibrant display of flowers, cherries, cocoa, strawberries, pepper, and garrigue in the aroma. Sexy, silky, and sensuous, it has a serious depth of flavor that perfectly complements the array of flavors and textures present. It seems approachable early on, but like all vintages of Sabon Secret, the secret is that these wines can age comfortably for at least two decades. 2023 Solitude (Lançon Pere et Fils) Cornelia Constanza – The perfume is like walking into a flower market with a basket of juicy cherries in your hands. The palate is sweet, juicy, round, and supple, with notes of cinnamon, flowers, kirsch, and raspberries. The wine is concentrated, which happens when our wine is made from 100% old vine Grenache from vines that are over 100 years old. The production is small, averaging about 3,000 bottles per vintage. 2023 Solitude (Lançon Pere et Fils) Cuvee Barberini – Herbs, black raspberries, spice, and leafy notes pop in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is juicy, round, and fruity, with a touch of wood that needs a bit of to better integrate. The wine blends 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre. 2023 Solitude Vin de Solitude – This wine showcases an intriguing blend with a high percentage of white wine grape varietals, which contribute aromatics and a velvety palate texture, yet it is surprisingly deeply colored. The nose is highly floral, bursting with a unique mix of white peaches and kirsch. Sensuous, silky, and vibrant, with a stunning sense of purity, this is simply an exquisite wine. I only wish the antique-shaped bottle would fit in my cellar. The wine was crafted from a blend of 25% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, 20% Clairette rose, Cinsault, Counoise, and the rest from various other varieties. Drink from 2027 to 2042. 96 Pts

2023 Tour-Saint-Michel Feminessance – Deep, dark, peppery, spicy, concentrated, and vibrant, there is a solid depth of flavor, with energy that powers the layers of cherries, licorice, spice, and crushed stones, which adds complexity to the finish. The wine needs a few years to soften, and it will age for 12 or more years with ease. The wine is now produced from 100% Syrah aging in 50% new oak, and 50% old oak barrels. 2023 Vieille Julienne Les Hauts Lieux – Kirsch, strawberry, peppery herbs, and floral notes define the aromatic profile. The palate is rich with meaty, spicy, dark, and concentrated flavors, featuring a deep, supple texture of fruits. You can taste sweet cherries, plums, and kirsch balanced between power and elegance. Give it a year or two, and the wine will flourish. Here, you find layer, after layer of sweet, luscious, opulent, creamy dark red fruits that build and expand while it lingers. Balanced, fresh, and vibrant, there is serious depth of flavor, length, and purity from start to finish. The wine is made from 90% Grenache, 5% Syrah, and 5% Counoise.
