2022 Panisse Le Mas – Loads of just-picked flowers, garrigue, and black pepper-edged cherries get this beauty going. The palate is packed with layers of kirsch, black raspberries, and strawberries that come through with ease. Polished and fresh, the round finish lingers with layers of sweet, red, peppery red berries. The wine blends roughly 55% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault. 2022 Paul Autard Cuvee Juline – Once past the strong oak component, you find a powerful, concentrated, round, lush, dark, deep wine that delivers its smoked cherries, chocolate, and plums with ease. Produced by blending 50% Grenache with 50% Syrah, the wine is aged in 100% new, French oak barrels for 19 months before bottling. Juline, takes it name from the names of Jules Autard and Pauline Autard, the children of the Autard family. Drink from 2027-2040. 92 Pts

2022 Paul Autard La Cote Ronde – Loads of incense, espresso, and black cherries form the nose. Round, and fruity on the palate, the wine demands time for the oak to fully integrate. From a blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah, the wine is aged in 100% new, French oak barrels. This is one of the more modern-styled Southern Rhone wines. So, you are either going to love it, or not. 2022 Pegau Reservee – Flowers, with black cherries, and black raspberries fund the perfume. The wine is lively, fresh, and forward with accents of licorice, spice, and herbs adding complexity to the core of sweet, ripe, red berries that are there from start to finish. The wine is a blend of 80% Grenache and various other AOC allowed grape varieties. Drink from 2027-2040. 94 Pts

2022 Pierre Usseglio Cuvee de Mon Aieul – Black cherries, strawberries, black raspberries, herbs, pepper, and flowers crowd into the perfume. There is concentration, energy, and layers of ripe, sweet, peppery fruits that linger with fruit and freshness. The wine is made with 100% old vine Grenache. Drink from 2025-2037. 95 Pts

2022 Pierre Usseglio Premiere Pierre – Fruity, and floral, this medium-bodied wine is soft, fresh, fruity, and focused on its core of vibrant, red berries. This is an early drinking, easy to like charmer. Drink from 2025-2032. 90 Pts

2022 Pignan Chateauneuf-du-Pape – Pine trees, old wood, and cherries open the nose. The palate is soft, fresh, and fruity, with touches of turmeric that come along with the raspberries in the finish. Drink from 2025-2032. 90 Pts

2022 Pignan Cuvee Speciale Coralie et Floriane – Pine needles, resin, and peppery red fruits define the core of this wine. Crisp, bright, and tart, with an abrupt, chalky finish, is what you find on the palate. Drink from 2025 – 2031 88 Pts

2022 Roger Perrin Chateauneuf-du-Pape – Elegant, soft, round, juicy, and fruity, the wine quickly focuses you on its core of dark cherries, strawberry, and peppery herbs. The fruity polished endnotes delivers ample sweetness, and kirsch from start to finish. The wine was made from blending 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, and 15% Syrah with the remainder coming from Cinsault and Clairette. Drink from 2025-2034. 91 Pts

2022 Roger Perrin Reserve des Vieilles Vignes – Black cherries, licorice, mint, and strawberries shape the perfume. On the palate, the wine is supple, and fresh, with loads of minty black cherries, and black raspberries with a touch of wood in the creamy finish. Drink from 2025 – 2038. 92 Pts

2022 Roger Sabon Le Secret des Sabon – Once again, Le Secret is one of the wines of the vintage, but, that’s no surprise for fans of the wine. This beauty kicks off with flowers, black, and red cherries, kirsch, strawberry, and thyme in its aromatic profile. On the palate, the is even better. There is concentration, intensity, elegance, and wild refinement, leaving you with its wealth of fruit that feels great as it lingers. The wine is produced from 95% old vine Grenache with 5% coming from various, assorted, allowable grape varieties. Drink from 2028-2040. 96 Pts

2022 Roger Sabon Réserve – Black raspberries, herbs and flowers show with ease in the perfume. The medium-bodied palate is sweet, ripe, juicy, and fresh, with loads of elegant, soft, ripe, juicy red berries and pit fruits. The finish has ample lift and sweetness. Drink from 2025-2035. 92 Pts

2022 Romain Duvernay Châteauneuf-du-Pape – Medium-bodied, vibrant, fresh, dusty cherries, raspberries, and kirsch, with touches of dried flowers are already easy-to-like. Forward, and set to go so you can drink in its youth, on release. The wine blends Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Drink from 2025-2030. 89 Pts

2022 Rotem & Mounir Saoum Arioso – This is all about the basket of red fruits, cherries, strawberries, kirsch, and red plums that get the wine going. The wine is concentrated, ripe, juicy, and fresh, so you have ample lift to the kirsch-packed finish. A bit pricey, but the character and quality are there. The wine is produced from 100% old-vine Grenache planted in the 1930s in the Pignan sector. After whole-cluster vinification, the wine is aged in 228- and 500-liter barrels for 36 months. Drink from 2025-2038. 94 Pts

2022 Rotem & Mounir Saoum Magis Blanc – Flowers, flowers, and more flowers are what you find before discovering all the sweet, ripe, yellow, and orange citrus, made even better with juicy pears. Lush, sweet, ripe, and fruity, the wine is already open, and ready for pleasure. The wine blends 75% Grenache Blanc, 10% Clairette, 10% Roussanne. and 5% Bourboulenc. Fermentation occurs in 500-liter barrels, followed by two years of aging on the lees, with only occasional stirring in the same barrels. Drink from 2025-2032. 94 Pts

2022 Saint Laurent Chateauneuf-du-Pape – Light, soft, fresh, floral, and accessible with a core of red berries from start to finish in this easy drinking wine. Drink from 2025-2030. 87 Pts

2022 Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape – Licorice, and raspberry notes come through, a bit on the light side, but the fruits are clean, fresh, and vibrant, with good energy, and a touch of cocoa that accompanies the sweet red fruits in the finish. The wine was made from blending Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. Drink from 2025-2032. 90 Pts

2022 Saint Siffrein Terre d’Abel – Black cherries, smoke, licorice, and a touch of chocolate form the perfume. The palate is concentrated, dark, and fruity with a chocolate tint to its core of red fruits. The oak is still a bit prominent, so allow it a but of time to better integrate. The wine was made from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. This should age and evolve quite nicely. Drink from 2027-2037. 92 Pts

2022 Semelles de Vent – Produced from 100% Mourvedre, the wine is firm, peppery, and solid, with a good depth of color, but it finishes dry and hard. Drink from 2025-2032. 88 Pts

2022 Senechaux Chateauneuf-du-Pape – Garrigue, pine, sage, mint leaves, and strawberries define the perfume. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, refined, fresh, and fruity with ample, earthy, red berries from start to finish. The wine blends Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Drink from 2025-2036. 92 Pts

2022 Sixtine Chateauneuf-du-Pape – Flowers, licorice, black raspberries, herbs, and kirsch aromatics come together to form the perfume. On the palate the wine is sweet, vibrant, soft, and supple, with a peppery edge to the red berries in the chewy, mint-accented finish. The wine is usually a blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 25% Mourvedre. Drink from 2025-2036. 92 Pts

2022 Solitude – Ripe, round, lush, and fruity, the wine exudes its wealth of sweet cherries, black raspberries, kirsch, and peppery strawberries with ease. There is a lot of concentration here, and sweetness, which hides the majority the wines hefty, 15.5% ABV. This will drink great on release. The wine blends approximately 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mouverdre, 5% Cinsault, and 5% Counoise. Drink from 2025-2035. 92 Pts

2022 Solitude (Lançon Pere et Fils) Cuvee Barberini – Garrigue, mint, and red berry aromatics, with spicy accents, pop in the nose. The wine is elegant, fresh, and filled with strawberries, cherries, and black raspberries with a spicy, herbal edge from the mid-palate, through to the finish. The wine blends 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre. Drink from 2025-2037. 92 Pts

2022 St. Antonin – Produced from 100% Grenache, the wine is bright, fresh, and juicy, with a lean to the kirsch and raspberry side of the style range. Not a lot of depth, but ample sweetness and strawberries in the finish. Drink from 2025-2032. 90 Pts

2022 Tour-Saint-Michel Cuvee des Deux Soeurs – Licorice, kirsch, and floral notes emerge with little effort. On the palate, the wine is soft, fresh, medium-bodied, vibrant, and refined, with an elegant, black raspberry, and strawberry-filled finish. The wine blends 90% Grenache with 10% Syrah. Drink from 2025-2034. 92 Pts

2022 Tour-Saint-Michel Cuvée du Lion – Full bodied, deep, opulent, richly-textured wine with a core of black cherries, roasted nuts, chocolate, spice, licorice, and smoke, in the perfume, and on the palate. The wine finishes with a robust wave of deep, black cherries. The new oak used in the aging is already mostly integrated into the wealth of fruit. The wine is produced blending 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. Drink from 2027-2040. 93 Pts

2022 Tour-Saint-Michel Feminessance – Round, fruity, smoke, rich, and still with some oak to integrate, the wine is fleshy, juicy, and lush, with ripe black cherries, licorice, chocolate, and mint on the palate, that carries through to the finish. The wine requires a few years to come together, allowing the oak to integrate. The wine was made from 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah. Drink from 2027 – 2038. 92 Pts

2022 Tour-Saint-Michel Le Lien – Flowers, black cherries, menthol, and spice kick off the wine in the perfume. Full-bodied, rich, and intense, the wine is remarkably powerful for the vintage. Clocking in at 15.9% ABV, all that alcohol is somehow buried in the fruit. Lush, sweet, opulent, and fresh, this is a triumph for the vintage. The wine is produced from 100% old vine Grenache. Drink from 2027-2042. 95 Pts

2022 Vaudieu Amiral G – Powerful, lush, rich, opulent wine packed from start to finish with waves of back cherries, black raspberries, peppery spice, garrigue, and floral accents. One of the stars of the vintage, give it just a year or two in the bottle, and this is going to reward you with at least 15 or more years of sensuous pleasure. The wine is made from 100% old vine, Grenache planted in sandy soils not too far from Chateau Rayas. Drink from 2027-2040. 96 Pts

2022 Vaudieu Val de Dieu – Initially, you notice the floral bouquet before discovering all of the garrigue, peppery cherries, and kirsch, and array of spices. The wine is fresh, vibrant, and peppery, with sweetness, and lift to the fruits on the mid-palate, that carry through to the fruit, and spice packed finish. The wine blends a large portion of old vine Grenache with a healthy dose of Syrah and Mourvedre. Drink from 2025-2037. 94 Pts

2022 Vieille Julienne Les Hauts Lieux – Like walking through a farmers market and you are in the red berry section with its wealth of strawberries, black raspberries, and cherries, with a bouquet of lavender for good measure. Fresh, and refreshing, with ample layers of sweet, ripe, spicy, herb-tinted red fruits from start to finish. The fruits are ripe, sweet ,and pure, with a spicy, white pepper edge on the backend of the finish. The wine was produced from a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre with just a bit of Cinsault, Counouise, and a dollop of other assorted grape varieties wrapping up the blend. Drink from 2026 – 2038. 94 Pts

2022 Vieille Julienne Les Trois Sources – Thyme, flowers, and red fruits take over the perfume with ease. The medium-bodied palate exudes more of those red berries, peppery spice, and herbs in a vibrant, berry-filled package. The wine is generally a blend of 60% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, and a myriad of various other allowable varieties. Drink from 2026-2036. 93 Pts

2022 Vieille Julienne Reserve – In any vintage, this would be a minster. But, it is simply a marvel in 2022! The non-stop layers of black raspberries, black cherries, kirsch, wild strawberries, and red plums seem to go on endlessly. Power with elegance, refinement with supple, fruit-filled, seamless waves of fruit continue for 60 seconds, if not longer. The finish is long, vibrant, and spicy, with a white pepper accent in the finish that adds more brightness and finesse. This gem is a gorgeous example of what Chateauneuf du Pape does best. The wine is made from 90% Grenache, 5% Syrah, and 5% Counoise. If this seems like your thing, grab a few bottles as the production is extremely limited this year. Drink from 2028-2045. 98 Pts
