Are you a wine geek? Many people are. I know I am. And that’s not a bad thing. In fact, Kyle Meyer and Tristen Beamon are proud of the fact! They have traveled to the Bordeaux wine country and numerous other great wine regions to share their peculiar, fun and informative geekiness. Fortunately for us, they have captured some of this on film.
On the Geeks web site, you can catch an episode at Pontet Canet in Pauillac. You also see the Geeks in Pomerol . That’s where they filmed at Le Gay, La Violette and Lafleur. In Graves/Pessac Leognan they shot footage at Haut Bailly and Pape Clement. In St. Emilion, they produced a program shot at Pavie .
But part of the Geeks charm and mission statement is, Kyle and Tristen don’t just film at the most famous Bordeaux wine chateaux. They even covered Belle-Vue in the Haut Medoc & Lesser Appellations area.

Their goal is to demystify the world of wine by sharing an accessible, irreverent and fun-loving approach to wine. Kyle and Tristen are wine buyers for one of America’s biggest retailers. Together, they have 35-plus years in the wine business. That experience paired with their infectious love for wine and the people making the wine comes across in their video clips.
The Wine Geeks know every wine and wine producer has a fascinating story. Those stories do not start or stop with what’s in the glass. They delve into the people who make the wine and partake in the local cuisine and lifestyles. They have a unique, charming, simple everyman approach. The Geeks will never describe wines as having “subtle whispers of cherimoya coupled with a pinch of quince.” With them it’s, “Man, that’s good! Full bodied! Juicy!” Or, “Dude, what a stinker.” Their goal is making wine easier to understand for everyone.

Whether they are tasting $10 wines or $1,000 wines, it does not matter to the Geeks. Nothing phases them. They’re just as happy scarfing hot dogs off a truck as they are dining on caviar and foie gras with a Michelin-rated chef, as long as they are having fun.
