Showing much better in the bottle, than in the barrel, which is always a great sign, aromatically the wine pops with flowers, mint, oceanic scents, licorice, and an assortment of cherries. Medium-bodied, with a vibrancy, and strong mineral accent, the wine finishes with minty freshness and red pit fruits. The wine blends 60% Merlot with 40% Cabernet Franc. This is quite nice to drink today, and it can age for over a decade as well. This is clearly the best vintage of Haut Simard I've ever tasted! Drink from 2026-2040.
