2016 Château Bellefont-Belcier  (St. Émilion Grand Cru) 93

Flowers, smoke, licorice, espresso, blackberry and plum are at the core of this wine. And so is the soft, silky tannins, freshness and juiciness in all the fruit. It is going to take time to allow the oak to integrate. So, be prepared to wait 8-10 years before pulling a cork. But the quality is there, so it is going to be worth the wait. The wine was made from a blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. 93 Points

2015 Château Bellefont-Belcier  (St. Émilion Grand Cru) 93

Soft, elegant, fresh and stony, with a nice floral component, while still just a baby, it's easy to see how this is going to develop, with its wealth of fresh, ripe, sweet fruit, licorice, smoke and earthy polished nuances. By the time this hits 7-10 years of age, it's going to be in the sweet spot. 93 Points

The blend of flowers and truffle on the nose gets you going. The fruit is ripe, sweet, round and soft. There is freshness, elegance and loads of ripe juicy, fresh fruits from start to finish. This is a good wine, giving the equally strong 2016 a run for the money However, things should get even better here, as the winery was recently sold to Peter Kwok, who already owns numerous, Right Bank vineyards. Stay tuned! 93 Points

In the nose, copious notes of licorice, jammy black fruits, plum, cocoa and espresso. Licorice, black raspberry liqueur, minerality, coffee and floral scents pair well with the soft, round, voluptuous textures. The wine finishes with chocolate, licorice and black cherry. Give this this rich, concentrated, St. Emilion wine another 3-5 more years. For a stylish Bordeaux wine of this quality from a great vintage, this is still fairly priced. 92 Points
