2009 Monteverro Terra di Monteverro  (Toscana IGT) 91

With deep color and a nose of licorice, fresh espresso, licorice, boysenberry, fresh herbs, smoke, charcoal and truffle, the wine is fresh, lush and delivers loads of ripe, sweet, chocolate coated boysenberries, cocoa and fennel. This open knit wine was made from a blend that would be at home in Bordeaux with 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged in 60% new, French oak for 20 months, the wine reached 14.5% alcohol. This is already fun to drink. 91 Points
