Popped and poured, decanting is not necessary, and neither is further aging.

One of the fun things about working your way through a case of wine is understanding that each bottle develops at a different pace and sometimes to different levels as well. This was a better bottle of 1990 La Fleur de Gay than the previous example. With its truffle, black cherry, spice, chocolate and earthy profile, the rich, polished, sensuous textures made this wine into a delicious treat. This was a better bottle of 1990 La Fleur de Gay than the previous example. With its truffle, black cherry, spice, chocolate and earthy profile, the rich, polished, sensuous textures made this wine into a delicious treat. Nice wine, but clearly, this is starting to fade. The previous levels of rich fruits lack the levels of intensity that used to be so apparent. Still, it's a nice, medium bodied, earthy, sweet cherry and truffle expression. But it requires drinking over the next few years.
