From the aromatics, the wine appears like it will be over the top, but one sip will explain, nothing could be further from the truth. On the palate, the wine is silky, perfectly balance, rich, concentrated, sweet and for its immense depth of flavor, light on its feet. If you have the funds, and love California Cabernet Sauvignon, this is great wine!

Really great expression of Napa in an elegant style. The fruit is perfectly ripe, generous, fresh and shows good purity. The tannins are round, soft and polished. The finish displays fleshy, ripe, juicy, sweet blackberry, boysenberry, dark chocolate and earthy notes. Everything is working here. This is drinking quite well today.

From a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, and a mix of Petit Verdot with Cabernet Franc, this inky colored wine, with black/purple accents pops with scents of fresh roasted coffee beans, licorice, black and blue fruit, boysenberry jam, vanilla, earth and stone. Massive, yet balanced, powerful, but not overwhelming, this, rich, palate coating California Cabernet Sauvignon wine stains your palate with intense, black and blue fruits. I remember drinking the Berringer wines from State Lane several years ago. Those wines do not compare. This is a very serious Calif Cab.

This sweet, fortified wine was produced from mostly Merlot. While I found it interesting to taste, and well made, it was not a lot of fun to drink for me. Think of raisin and cherry syrup with licorice that includes ABV. Other tasters might like this more than I did. On the bright side, there was no sensation of heat from the 16.25 ABV wine.
