La Mission Haut Brion is a bigger and more tannic wine than Haut Brion. Yet, in some years, La Mission Haut Brion produces a better wine. If a reclassification were done, this is one wine that would be promoted to First Growth status.

This 15-hectare vineyard situated on the clay and limestone plateau features 9 different types of soil. It’s planted 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.
