2019 Château Mont-Redon  (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) 92

Showing a nice depth of color, the fruit is equally dark here with a focus on plums and black cherries. On the palate, the wine is rich, lush, round and full-bodied with a nice soft texture on the mid-palate and in the spicy, peppery, dark red berry and spice-filled finish. Mont Redon ages extremely well, so if you are not in a hurry, let it rest for 5-7 or more years. The wine averages 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and various assorted red grape varietals. Drink from 2026 - 2040 92 Points

2016 Château Mont-Redon  (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) 92

Forward and already a pleasure to drink, the wine is all about its kirsch, spicy dark cherry, thyme and earthy garrigue core on the nose and palate. Elegantly styled, with plenty of sweet, ripe, red fruits in the finish, you should be able to enjoy this over the next 12-15 years with ease. 92 Points

Not a lot of flash. Instead you discover peppery black raspberries, garrigue, earth and cherries, with concentrated layers of ripe, juicy, spicy, red plums, soft textures and good freshness. 90 Points

2009 Château Mont-Redon  (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) 89

This medium bodied, soft, forward wine is already serving up its cherry, pepper, herb and spicy charms. This is not a wine for long term aging. It will probably be best on the young side. 89 Points

1998 Château Mont-Redon  (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) 90

Fully mature, this elegant, soft, spicy, kirsch filled wine does not want further aging. Medium bodied, earthy, and with a red, berry character, there is no reason not to be popping cork on this today. 90 Points

1978 Château Mont-Redon  (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) 75

Tea in color, this is clearly past its prime. The fruit has mostly faded away. Traces of red berries remain in the light, tart finish. 75 Points

1966 Château Mont-Redon  (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) 82

Severely fading, but not completely faded away, if you took a deep look below all the garrigue, underbrush, herbs, tobacco and spice, there were the last few remaining vestiges of peppery red pit fruits and greenery. Not a bad wine per se, just tired and ready to get going on its forever nap. If you have a bottle, drink it sooner than later before the last drops of fruit are lost. 82 Points

1964 Château Mont-Redon  (Châteauneuf-du-Pape) 82

Drinkable, but well past its prime, the wine focuses on spices, earth and tobacco, with glimpses of red fruits found now and again. Medium-bodied, bright and with an earthy finish, this is not a wine to hold as it is probaby decades past its prime. 82 Points
