There is a strong citrus note in the nose before you get to all the toasty oak, and black with blue fruits. The wine is better on its rich, dense, luscious, opulently =-textured palate with its blast of flashy, black cherries and chocolate. The wine comes in an attention-seeking, oversized and overweight bottle. The wine comes in an over-sized bottle that matches its big, boisterous character. Packed with espresso bean, licorice, black and blue fruit and incense, currently, the wine displays a bit too much oak, so it is going to need time to integrate, allowing all the layers of ripe fruits to shine through. The super-sized bottle matches the big, outgoing character of the fruit here. Big, but never avoirdupois, the voluptuous nature gets noticed due to its multiple layers of decadent, ripe fruits. Black, red and blue, with a box of licorice, polished tannins and a long, mouth-filling finish are what you are going to experience. Opulent, silky, lush and fresh, the wine offers rich textures and layers of ripe, polished, sweet fruits. This is a new wine that comes from vines planted close to Chateau Monbousquet.
