Chateau Cabrieres only produced one wine this year, all the grapes normally used for their Cuvees were planted into their tradition and that helps explain whit this wine is so good. Château Cabrières (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)
The garrigue is strong here, but, not too strong, as you find layers of perfectly ripe, cherries, kirsch, strawberries and spice. On the palate, the olive and bouquet garni notes are noticeable, but so is all the ripe, sweet, peppery, intense red fruits. There is a cool vivacity to the finish, providing lift, and length. Château Cabrières La Lettre a Louis Arnaud (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)
This obscure wine is only made in select vintages and in very small amounts, about 100 cases give or take. Filled with herbs, black cherries and blackberries, this concentrated, unctuous style of wine has a lot to like. 2,878 Views Tasted Mar 1, 2008 |
