Vieux Château Certan (Pomerol)
While there are truffle, earth, cocoa, plums, coffee and plum notes, there is a slight hard leaning to the wine that might not soften enough over time. This is probably a good example of old school Pomerol. It's a structured, masculine Pomerol with a tannic spine that seems to want more time in the cellar. Like many wines from the vintage, it's more interesting on the nose than the palate and it's still young.
