Lush, fresh, soft, invigorating, with loads of citrus, toast and freshness.

Polished, lush and instantly quite aromatic, with a strong, brioche, flower and strawberry character, roasted apples and spice eventually make an appearance as well. Clearly, this is a very good wine, in a nice flamboyant style, but I do not see the value here, as I've had much better Champagnes for a fraction of the price.

Tasting slightly advanced for its age, honey, brioche, nuts, orange peel and ripe, yellow citrus notes pop with no effort. Silky, lush, sweet and fresh, it's easy to drink today.

Brioche, almonds, citrus and pineapple scents open to a fresh, refreshing, bright, citrus filled character with concentration, length and precision in the lemon focused finish.

1995 Krug Clos d'Ambonnay  (Champagne) 96

One of those wines I am thrilled to have tasted, and even happier someone else paid the freight. The debut vintage for this insanely expensive wine showed loads of brioche, apple, Meyer lemon peel. stone, rocks and minerality. Concentrated and lushly textured in its effervescence, clearly, this is a very good Champagne. But there are better places for your $2,500 for a single bottle of wine.

Full bodied, creamy, bubbly and offering a citrus and brioche filled nose. But the wine tastes and looks much older than its true age.

A nice Champagne, but probably not a great Krug. Nutty, yeasty, packed with brioche, apples, citrus and pears, the wine seemed older than its true age.

1989 Krug Vintage Brut Collection  (Champagne) 93

Delicate, refined, medium bodied and elegant in style, with aromas of toast, citrus peel, smoke and stone, this Champagne is ready for consumption. I am honored to have tasted this wine, but this is not a value play in the world of expensive Champagne. It needed more body and freshness.

With a rich golden hue, this Champagne offers aromas of toast, yeast, citrus, smoke, caramel, pineapple, nuts and light honeyed fruits. Rich, soft and zesty, this Krug is drinking great today.

Tasted and looked at least a decade older than its true age. Sweet, ripe, yeasty, mineralistic and citrusy, with a nice broiche component, but the bubbles and freshness seemed like they were fading.
