Had this twice over the past few weeks, and it was incredible both times. Sharp as a razor's edge, the wine is marked by its blinding, razor's edge of acidity. Crisp, crackling, bright, perfectly ripe, yellow citrus, crushed rocks, almonds, and brioche are all over the place. The resilient finish just keeps on going This is a Krug to age.

Polished, lush and instantly quite aromatic, with a strong, brioche, flower and strawberry character, roasted apples and spice eventually make an appearance as well. Clearly, this is a very good wine, in a nice flamboyant style, but I do not see the value here, as I've had much better Champagnes for a fraction of the price.

One of those wines I am thrilled to have tasted, and even happier someone else paid the freight. The debut vintage for this insanely expensive wine showed loads of brioche, apple, Meyer lemon peel. stone, rocks and minerality. Concentrated and lushly textured in its effervescence, clearly, this is a very good Champagne. But there are better places for your $2,500 for a single bottle of wine.

Tasted and looked at least a decade older than its true age. Sweet, ripe, yeasty, mineralistic and citrusy, with a nice broiche component, but the bubbles and freshness seemed like they were fading.
