Still young, with its parts not quite fully melded together, the wine showed a lot of ripe, black cherry liqueur, dark chocolate, raisins and figs in its lush, fat, sweet character. I like Vintage Port with a lot of age. I'd give it at least another decade of further development.

Not being much of a Port drinker, this wine knocked me out! The complex perfume was packed with licorice, spice, wild cherries, kirsch and strawberry liqueur. Rich, opulent and velvety in texture, with the perfect display of sweetness and purity of red fruits, the wine ended with a long, sensuous display of sweet fruit. This bottle was poured into a decanter and served with no decanting time. I imagine it would have been even better with some air.

Decanted 4 hours before service, the sweet, ripe, warm, rich, chocolate-covered cherries, spice, orange peel and plum liqueur hit all the right notes. What really makes this so incredible is the purity in the fruit. Full-bodied, concentrated, elegant, sweet and fresh, the wine combines intensity, sweetness, acidity, complexity, length and depth. This is a very complete experience.
