For a better Search Result, use the Advanced Wine Search. Else, enter the wine name and the vintage if desired, or the region for tasting notes. If you don’t get the result you’re seeking, either we do not have tasting notes on the wine or for that exact year. I seldom taste Port. But on those rare occasions, with a nice group, and a Cuban cigar, a Behike on this night, it's quite a treat. Spicy notes of cinnamon, clove, black cherry liqueur and cocoa created the nose. But the best part of the experience was the silky, viscous layers of sweet, very ripe, cherries, chocolate and fig, in the long, opulent, spicy, warm, silky textured, rich finish.

A solid, fully mature Port with waves of chocolate covered cherries, licorice, spice and nutty aromatics. The fruit is sweet, lush, warm and spicy.

I seldom drink Port. Perhaps a bottle or two a year. And without fail, every time I taste one of these older vintages, I'm reminded how much I like the wine. At just over 50 years of age, this thick, chocolate covered black cherry, spice box and strawberry jam filled wine hit the spot. Sweet, warm, velvety and mouth coating, it was a perfect late night surprise. Pairing it with aged Cubans late in the evening made it even better.
