For a better Search Result, use the Advanced Wine Search. Else, enter the wine name and the vintage if desired, or the region for tasting notes. If you don’t get the result you’re seeking, either we do not have tasting notes on the wine or for that exact year. To help your search results, broaden your search to just the wine name and check for spelling errors. You can sort your results by ratings, vintage or alphabetically.

|1891||Barbeito Boal "RR" - Ribeiro Real (Madeira)|
This old codger easily showed off its Christmas spice, orange, clove, dark cocoa, butterscotch and cherry liqueur profile. On the palate, the wine is bright, piquant, long and tangy, with its high acidity almost kept in check with its equally high level of acidity. It's always a thrill to drink bottled history. 95 Points

Dried fruits, brown sugar, piquant orange with bitter chocolate, roasted tangerine, burnt caramel and sharp acidic character neither add, or subtract from the fact that this is oldest wine I have ever tasted. It is more interesting than pleasurable. But it was truly a great experience, regardless. As a wine, this does not rank with any of the best wines I have tasted before. But as a glass of liquid contemplation, blended with a history lesson, (George Washington was President!) it remains unequaled. 87 Points
