I almost never taste Quinta do Noval Porto Vintage Nacional. But I seem to have enjoyed 2 bottles this year! With layers of fig, raisins, chocolate covered cherries and Cointreau with licorice, the nose clearly rocks. Full-bodied, lusciously textured and rich, the wine leaves you with a massive wave of warm, sweet, cherry, dark chocolate and raisin liqueur. The finish goes on and on. A true, Port lovers dream.

I do not get to taste a lot of Port. And out of all the Port I do get to taste, I almost never see Quinta do Noval Porto Vintage Nacional. The chocolate covered cherries, figs, raisins, orange peel, date and thyme scented perfume hit the spot. Light in color, served double blind, I was sure this was a much older wine. The finish, with its ripe, sweet, red berries and dark chocolate was supple and long. However, I must admit, I was shocked to discover how much this wine sells for! For the quality and price, I'd much rather buy a bottle of Grahams or Taylor.
