Jeff, I'm not the lucky bastard...., seems like Francois is :)

Francois, you should write a book on all those amazing wines you try....

Christer,
You are right, I should, but time flies so quickly !
I cannot stop all these events just to write.
But I should do it.

1989 Pichon lalande, 1981 Chave Hermitage and an 88 Yquem. Pichon was a bit over the hill, Chave sang all night and then some, Yquem was very good but not great.

Michael... Where was my invite? I love old Chave Hermitage! I am also a big fan of 88 Chateau d'Yquem. We need to make a plan to pop a few bottles. It's been too long... What do you think?

2000 Reserve De Leoville Barton on Valentine's day along with surf n' turf. Decanted briefly. Had a beautiful nose of red and blue fruits but less going on in the mouth... still elegant but with some tannin left to give it a few more years until it peaks. Recorked and finished it off on Friday. It had lost some of its luster by then but was still showing signs of its former self. 92pts.

With all the talk about Bordeaux wines going on right now, thanks to Mr. Parker, I'm thinking I might open something with a little age. Perhaps one of the smaller Bordeaux from 2005.

After a few vintages of Cos d'Estournel last night, I'm thinking Pomerol, perhaps La Fleur Petrus is calling my name. Either 1995 or 1998 is looking good.

Can't keep up with the big dogs here, but recently:

89 Pichon Lalande - at peak
86 Montrose - classic
00 Ducru Beaucaillou - just lovely
00 Lynch Bages - needs time
03 Sociando Mallet - their best ever
03 Lafon Rochet - a steal
05 Grand Puy Lacoste - look in to backfill; answer: YES

Coming up:
89 Angelus
89 Montrose
89 Pichon Lalande
Yquem - either 01 or 03 (probably 03, want to save my 01s)
