Recent wine purchase

Post by Howard Cooper » Tue Sep 01, 2015 12:37 pm

Store bought a cellar. Sold most of the wine. Had a few wines on high discount because they were not sure about them. So, I ended up buying a 1970 Cheval Blanc for $50. Cork is not up (in fact it is a bit depressed, although not as much as I will be if the wine is no good), fill is high upper shoulder. They did not open a Cheval Blanc but opened a few others from the cellar and the wines showed well.

Mark Wessels and I looked at cellartracker for recent reviews and the latest from one Jeff Leve was positive. Past ones from Jeff, not so much.

Worth a shot I thought.

Hi Howard

My bottles of 1970 Cheval Blanc also came from Macarthur. I bought them a few years ago. You might like the wine more than I do. What else did you score?

I bought a few Italian wines, not a major trip.
