In my files and on my blog, I have more than 200 reports on DRC wines. I am in love with this Domaine, as I find in the wines a unique subtlety. But it is not always an easy trip, as many times I have being deceived by imperfect wines. To get the taste of DRC wines requires time and the acceptation ...

Brad,
I am with you about Cristal.
I have not a great experience of Cristal rosé.

Concerning Salon 1982, it is one of the most romantic Salon. I love it.

1990 Cristal Roederer

I have not a palate for Cristal. My heart belongs to Salon and Krug. But I must say that the 1990 Cristal Roederer that I drank tonight impressed me. A big fruit made of peaches and kaki, a deep wine, strong bubbles, and a taste which never ends, all that composed an impression of serenity, balance,...

1991 is a very delicate and interesting year for DRC. La Tâche is full of subtlety.
DRC has always had problems of diversity, and for older years, awful problems of corks, nearly inacceptable.

As I make rather frequently dinners of ten people with my wines, I see different attitudes. Generally, there is no corkage, but I accept to pay a high price for the dinner. If I see such a comprehensive attitude, it is beacause I write on my dinners, and the restaurants think that it gives them publ...

David,
I am happy to read you.

Christer,
There are problems with Van der meullen.
He had great bottles in the 30ies, and many of the 1947 (Cheval Blanc, Petrus, ... ) are fakes.
I agree with your remarks.

We have had many many many discussions about the question : when does the 21st century begin ? The answer is 01-01-01 or 01/01/01. So, all the wines of 2000 cannot be counted in the Top 10 of the 21st century. As I am not an expert in young wines, I will just give some wines which have impressed me ...

I second Jeff on Port wines.
1963 Quinta do Noval Nacional is a legendary wine (nearly as great as 1931). I have one and never drunk. I intend to do so.

Christer,
You have drunk very nice wines !
I agree with you about the perfection of 1928 Suduiraut. A very great wine.

Concerning Cheval Blanc 1947, how are you sure that it was a fake ? On which criterium did you come to this conclusion ?

I drank nice young wines in the 70ies. One day, probably around 1976, a friend told me : "as you like wine, you should come on Friday at 6 pm in a grocery shop. The man opens very nice wines". I entered and was among six people sitting at a table in the rear room. The owner of the shop came with a b...

1845 Cyprus Commandaria is probably the most complex wine that I have ever tasted, with a length that never ends 1864 Montrachet Bouchard was completely amazing and moved me physically 1861 Yquem is my best ever Yquem with an original cork (amazing) which plays an enormous role in keeping the taste ...

This is my first message on this forum, and which subject would be better than this one to begin to write ? My friend Jeff asked me to join this community. I will be happy to participate if I have time enough to do so. My experience with old wines begins to be significant, as I drink seriously old ...
