Joao,
My passion for old wines began around 1977 when I drank a Climens 1923 which changed my life. It was as if the halley Comete was standing just above me.

I think not this year because with my wife we would like to enjoy the longest days of the year in our house in the South of France. I am always happy to come, as the invitations are prestigious, but I think I will not come. Concerning 1934 which does not correspond to any particular date fr me, I ha...

Thank you Brad. I drank the 2002 rosé, and I had a similar impression to yours. Le Champagne Bollinger Grande Année 2002 est d'une année exceptionnelle. La couleur est d'un beau jaune de blés en épis. Le nez est discret et la bouche très fine. En bouche, l'image qui me vient est celle d'une boulange...

11 wines of different regions in a dinner

Drunk yesterday : Champagne Bollinger Grande Année rosé 1990 : good champagne but only good champagne. Not a real emotion. Have you ever had real emotion with rosé Bollinger ? Champagne Salon 1985 : perfection. At this moment, it has a maturity which is unique. This is one of the most accomplished S...

1990 Bollinger Grande Année Rosé

It is a good champagne, but only a good champagne.
I have not had a real emotion.

I am not a great rosé fan but 1990 Dom Pérignon in magnum knocked me.

Have you had emotions with rosé Bollinger ?

As you mention 1934, in two days I will drink 1934 Ducru Beaucaillou. I hope it will be in the same league as 1961 DB which is a supernatural wine.

I have seen the pictures of your bottle. It was mid shoulder which is not bad, and despite a very hurt label, it would have been possible that the wine would be good. Did you use the slow oxygenation method ? It could have helped. I would have liked a picture of the capsule from the top, as it seems...

After the hype for Yquem 2001, the 2002 was proposed at a very cheap price.
I bought many 2002 Yquem in halves, and whenever someone visits my cellar, I open an Yquem 2002, not because it is cheap  but because it is good.

I think it is a bottle between 1900 and 1930.
Normally there should be a label for the year.
But I know that, for example, the owner of Rayne Vigneau did not label the year in the 1900's because a label for the year would be too expensive !!!

This bottle is a very nice testimony.

Marshall, nearly all 1948 have been drunk, because people people preferred to keep the uneven years, 1943, 1945, 1947, 1949. So years like 1942 disappeared as no one wanted to keep for long such a weak year. Same for 1944. But for 1946 and 1948 which are good years, they suffered from the fame of 19...
