Re: My best wines for 2015 (so far)

Jeff, How did you taste Palmer 90, Chave 98 and La Tâche 90 ? Some great wines to come before the end of the year and my list could also include my "18/20" great wines to my very best displayed above (18,5/20 plus 19/20, no 20/20 this year, unfortunatly) Pessac-Léognan Les Carmes Haut-Brion 1915 (ma...

A wonderful dinner near Bordeaux (in french)

2. Châtea...

Re: 1975 dinner

I rated Carmes Haut-Brion 1975 much higher than you, Jeff (91/100) - strong as a 1975 can be ...... Les Carmes Haut-Brion 1975 : 16,5/17 (hence, 91/100) On découvre ici un vin rappelant un vieux Chinon. La construction est plus septentrionale, véloce, à l'acidité (ligérienne) soutenue mais bien inté...

Re: One of the best champagnes I`ve ever had!

Among my very best wines :
Comtes de Champagne rosé 1983 (magnum - 97/100)
Comtes de Champagne 1976 (98/100)

The 1996 is great.
The 1995 excellent.
The 1966 still very interesting (drank in january 2015)

An astonishing 1915 ...
And, hundred years later, a very promising and tasty 2014.

Re: Bordeaux 2004 ten years later (45 wines)

I recently retasted Ducru-Beaucaillou 2004 : excellent, still needing 5 to 10 years of cellaring. Among the best 2004, 92/100. Like (in our panel) : Cos d'Estournel Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre (no oak in the cellar) Brane-Cantenac Montrose Léoville-Barton Grand Chênes did not confirm. Sociando-Mallet i...

Re: Bordeaux 2004 ten years later (45 wines)

Jeff, Overwood was not to complain in our tasting for Pape-Clément 2004 ... (and I generally do not like oaky wines). Pape-Clément 1998 also performed well in a Bordeaux 1998 horizontale in 2011 : http://www.invinoveritastoulouse.fr/index.php/degustations-thematiques/horizontales-millesime/658-20110...

Re: Bordeaux 2004 ten years later (45 wines)

Jeff, 2004 is not an amazing vintage, of course. My rating was low for Eglise-Clinet 2004 when I tasted it in Bordeaux with the Grand Jury Européen in 2007 (the global rank of the wine was 55 on 150 wines). I have not retasted it since ... I can say that Pape-Clément 2004 turns out to be a winner, a...
