I love Ducru. But after the 2003, I stopped buying them due to the high prices. From your notes, the wines should great, but at these prices, its hard to justify buying them anymore.

Very nice to see so many great wines being opened. You are very brave to open all those big Bordeaux wines blind. Thank you for sharing.

Jeff, Thank you for sharing. I applaud you for opening Petrus, especially blind. The picture of the guy and the bottles on the glasses is priceless! HOw does someone get to join your 7 blind men group? I am more than green with envy.

Can you share some tips on Rhone wines that do not cost as much as Guigal or Chapoutier? Are there Rhone value wines?

Corked wines are the worst part of the wine hobby. There is nothing worse than opening a bottle of wine and finding out that its corked. Especially when its your only bottle. How often does this happen to everone else?

Jeff I've never tasted any of the La La's, but your tasting note on the 1985 Guigal La Turque is the best note you have written yet. I feel like I know what this wine tastes like. Thank you for sharing. In response to your question about a wine that left me speechless, it is probably 1990 Petrus. I ...

For those of you that have been to Noma and some of the other "world's greatest restaurants", how does Noma compare with The Fat Duck, El Bulli or The French Laundry?

PS - Some of the wines you guys like are insane! I hope to sample at least a fe of them one of these days.

Pavie is a little too costly for me now, so I am finishing up my 1999 Monbousquet that I have left. I should be opening one soon, so will be sure to post. I also may give 03 Pavie another try if this one particular store still has them on sale. Pavie is too much for me too. I have a few 2001's left...

My buying has been on hold lately. I picked up a few bottles 2007 Chateauneuf. It made me feel better buying those wines for about $50 when I passed on Harlan Estate again. Who is paying $500 for one bottle of wine! YIKES

Petrus, the First Growths and Screaming Eagle are wines I will probably never get to taste. I am not sure any wine is worth that much money. But if someone else is buying, I'm willing to taste them.

Howard... You're funny today! I have never been a fan of motor oil wines. But I do like my fruit to be ripe and there's nothing wrong with silky, elegant textures. Sticking to Pichon Lalande, 82, 89, 95, 96, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2009 all deliver the goods. Most 86 Bordeaux is like having sex ...

Dear Mr Derenoncourt,

Thank you for posting. I am a big fan of the wines you are making. I note that you say there is a big difference between 2009 and 2010. Do you have a preference between the vintages? Thank you in advance.

Mr. Leve,

Thank you for sharing your notes. From what I have read on the internet and now on your website with the post from Mr. Derenoncourt, I am excited about the wines. The big question is, will I be able to afford them? Does anyone have any information to share?
