Favourite USA Chardonnay

I am hosting a new world v old world Chardonnay tasting in London in June . All wines will be tasted blind and there will be a number of distinguished burgundy experts there. The objective is to demonstrate that many of the top new world Chardonnay can compete with the best from burgundy Am trying t...

Re: Thanks to Jeff, I have finally seen the light

Must be nuts. Great mature Bordeaux especially from Graves,is one of my very favourite drinking experiences but so is mature Burgundy from producers such as Rousseau,Dujac and Roumier. So i suggest Howard, you have not really seen the light, until you can appreciate the greatness of wines from both re...

Re: Bandol-------great QPR wine

It varies Jeff but I have had some over 40 years of age and drinking beautifully. Attended a Bandol vertical a few years ago,in which we tasted blind Tempier wines from 60,s through to 90,s and the favoured wines of the night were the older vintages. Just a shame that it is now difficult to obtain b...

Bandol-------great QPR wine

Have long thought that Bandol offers some brilliant value, especially for red wine. Producers such as Tempier,Pradeaux and Pibarnon make absolutely great wine although this is a style of wine that needs many many years bottle age to be at its best. Suspect that many drink the wine far too young, and I...

Regret Jeff I shall be in Hong Kong in March not getting back to London till the 3rd April. I do have one or two bottles of 61 Palmer and the odd 61 La Chapelle but regret that Romanee Conti is in short supply :) Can however promise a 90 Rousseau Chambertin or Rouget Cros Parantoux 93,both of which ...

Nice selection Jeff although I do not see too much burgundy :) . One of the greatest wines I have ever tasted was a Rousseau Chambertin 1990 early last year. I am certain you would have loved it. Mind you no doubt your DRC was up to scratch :) . had a lovely DRC Montrachet 1999 with Nigel Platts-Mar...
