Two versions of this wine exist. Most of the production was aged in 100% new oak for about 22 months. A small portion, (2 barrels) was aged for 39 months. This review is for the 22 month aged release. 39 months is far too long for the wine. It tasted and felt like wood on the palate. The 22 month release is opaque in color. Oak, incense, earth, jam and black pepper aromas, full bodied and concentrated, this ripe, dense wine is packed with layers of ripe, spicy, jammy dark berries.

Another new discovery. Inky in color, the wine opens with coffee bean, boysenberry jam, licorice and spicy scents. Powerful and polished, this rich, round, Syrah based wine is packed with plush, ripe, juicy, fresh fruit.
