2006 Salon Blanc de Blancs Brut  (Champagne) 97

Concentrated, full-bodied, chalky and intense, with loads of freshness, cut and effervescence, there is power and refinement, elegance and youth all wrapped in one here. I am sure this will be much better with age. 97 Points

2002 Salon Blanc de Blancs Brut  (Champagne) 93

Stony, mineral driven, crisp, bright, fresh, citrus and brioche on the nose, delivering the best part of the wine. The texture feels harsh, and too chalky, which takes away from the wine. 93 Points

1999 Salon Blanc de Blancs Brut  (Champagne) 95

Fresh, bright, effervescent, lively, mineral driven and filled with sweet, citrus and brioche notes, this really hit the spot when paired with a cornucopia of shellfish dishes. 95 Points

1997 Salon Blanc de Blancs Brut  (Champagne) 94

I like Salon. It's my favorite Champagne, but I do not get any sense of value in the 1997. Medium bodied, fresh, mineral driven, sweet citrus fruits, with an intriguing hint of raspberry, brioche and nuts, the wine is creamy and refined, but not exciting. It's not even close to the sublime 1996. 94 Points

Soft, refined, sweet and elegant, packed with fresh lemon, green apple, citrus, minerality and toast, this Champagne combines freshness with refined, soft textures and a lively, refreshing, citrus and apple filled finish. 93 Points

1996 Salon Blanc de Blancs Brut  (Champagne) 98

Mind blowing juice! If you have a special occasion that calls for a heart stopping bottle of Champagne, this is the bottle to pop. The bubbles are silk, the acidity delivers the perfect amount of lift, there is a purity of fruit, balanced by fresh baked brioche characteristics and the finish just keeps on going. 98 Points

I don't taste a lot of high end Champagne, but after just one sip of this wine, perhaps I've been missing out. Stunning in every way, the wine packed so much fresh, sweet, citrus, brioche and almond scents, paired with the perfect amount of effervescence to make this a real treat. The texture paired creaminess with acidity and length to keep this interesting all the way through. This was incredibly young and fresh and vibrant, it's hard to believe it's already 20 years of age. If only I could afford a bottle, or a case... 99 Points
