The polish to the fruits and tannin is apparent from the get-go. Medium-bodied, elegant, ripe, fresh and extraordinarily juicy, you'll also find elements of espresso bean, ripe plum, blackberry and earth. There is depth of flavor and length. The wine is age-worthy so give it at least a few years before popping a cork and enjoy it over the next 12-15 years. From a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot and reaching 15% ABV. 92-94 Pts

Another year or two will add a lot to this richly textured wine and its espresso bean, black cherry and forest floor nose. The clean, supple, flavorful finish will get better as well.

Jammy blackberries, coffee bean, black raspberry scents, fresh lush, plush textures and a sweet, black cherry and fennel finish. Give it a few years to develop additional complexities.

Croix de Beaucaillou offers a nose of licorice, smoke, dark berries and earthy scents. The round, soft textured wine ends with a cassis, cocoa and boysenberry filled finish. 2010 will be the first vintage sporting a new label for this wine in an effort to let consumers know, the estate does not consider it a second wine of Ducru Beaucaillou. According to Bruno Borie, Croix de Beaucaillou should not be viewed as a second wine because the grapes emanate from a different terroir than the Grand Vin. 91-93 Pts

Croix de Beaucaillou is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. 2010 marks the debut for the new label promoting the estates efforts to market this brand as a unique wine, and not a second label of Ducru Beaucaillou. According to Bruno Borie, the reason for this is; the wine emanates from a different terroir than the Grand Vin. Cassis, plums and anise scents lead to a wine offering juicy ripe plums and hints of coca. Fresh, clean and polished, this is a strong effort for Croix de Beaucaillou. The wine is going to be aged in 60% new oak for about 12 months. 91-93 Pts

Fully mature, pop and pour is all this needs to get the ripe, sweet and crsip red fruits, cedar, tobacco, herb and forest notes. The wine is medium-bodied, soft and polished with a sweet and tart red fruit finish.

Dark chocolate, earth, fresh picked boysenberries, black cherry and licorice entice you to do what is needed with the silky, lush, round, rich, forward style of wine. This is so delicious, rich and open, it might never close down.

From the new bottle designed by Jade Jagger, which is very tastefully done, the wine is deep purple in color. The 2009 St. Julien opens with scents of boysenberry, chocolate, earth, tobacco and cherries. Fresh, clean and fleshy, the wine produced from a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot and aged in 60% new oak, ends with a supple, ripe, bright, black cherry and cocoa finish. In today's market place, this is a fairly priced wine from Bruno Borie, who is one of the best producers in Bordeaux at the moment.

Tight, needs air and coaxing before the licorice, smoke, plum and herb aromas emerge. Produced from a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, which is a much higher percentage of Cabernet than usual, the wine ends with black cherry and cocoa, along with a minor touch of green in the finish.

Drinking in the sweet spot, with an earthy, truffle character, there is sweet, soft, medium bodied, plum and dark cherry note in the soft, finish. Fully mature, there is no reason to age it any longer, but there is no real hurry to drink it either.
