2018 Cave de Tain Les Nobles Rives  (Crozes-Hermitage) 90

Lush, round and soft-textured, the sweet red berries show freshness and lift. Medium/full-bodied, forward and fruity, you can enjoy this relatively soon after release with just a year or two of aging. 90 Points

2017 Cave de Tain Les Nobles Rives  (St. Joseph) 91

Medium-bodied, soft, fresh, bright and already expressing its smoked, roasted black cherry essence, this is going to be quite tasty within a few years of release, once the oak has become better integrated. 91 Points

2017 Cave de Tain Arènes Sauvages  (Cornas) 92

Full-bodied, powerful, ripe and with layers of fresh olive-tinged, red pit fruits on the nose and palate, you find a peppery red berry finish. Leave it for about 5 years and it should be quite nice to enjoy. 92 Points

2017 Cave de Tain Epsilon  (Hermitage) 95

The top wine from Cave de Tain is deep and dark in color. The intoxicating nose shows incense, espresso, black cherry smoke, pepper, underbrush, herbs and olives. Powerful, full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, the wine hits all the right marks with its perfectly ripe tannins and ever better, its layers of gorgeous ripe fruits. Lay this down for a decade if you can and enjoy over the following 20-25 years or more. 95 Points

2017 Cave de Tain Esprit de Granit  (St. Joseph) 93

Incense, smoke, espresso, black and blue fruit with cracked pepper create the core here. Full-bodied, round, soft, spicy and loaded with peppery red fruits on the palate and in the finish, this going to be just great after it ages for at least 5 years or so. 93 Points

2017 Cave de Tain Gambert de Loche  (Hermitage) 93

Powerful, full-bodied, rich and concentrated with touches of vanilla, espresso, smoke, red fruits, herbs and black pepper. There is a lushness to the texture making this modern, but so what? The finish loads you up with dusty tannins, round, chewy fruit and peppery spices. 93 Points

2017 Cave de Tain Les Hauts du Fief  (Crozes-Hermitage) 89

Forward, fresh, and already working hard to show off its fruity side with all its sweet, ripe cherries and red plums, bottled without the use of sulfur, the wine is quite forward, making it easy to drink today. The finish, with its pepper and cherries offers charm, however is a bit drying in the endnotes. 89 Points

2017 Cave de Tain Les Nobles Rives  (Cornas) 90

Smoke, espresso and dark red fruits come alive in the nose and on the full-bodied, richly textured palate. The wine is concentrated and tannic, but the fruits and the tannins are ripe, still, give this 5-7 years in the cellar, or more before touching a bottle. 90 Points
