2012 fleur Cardinale grapes

2005 Fleur Cardinale is the wine of the week. From their 23.5 hectares of vines in the Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse commune of St. Emilion, Florence and Dominique Decoster have been making wine at Fleur Cardinale since they purchased the estate in 2001. Passionate about wine, the Decosters have a real commitment to not only producing wine of serious quality, but at a price most consumers can afford. That is a rare combination indeed.

2005 Fleur Cardinale – The first of many vintages that really showed how good this estate can be, is clearly ready to drink. The wine is already rocking with its plush, round, opulent silky mouthfeel. With a nose of dark chocolate, licorice, espresso, black cherry and truffle, the wine finishes with a blast of chocolate covered, ripe dark cherries, thyme and sweet juicy plums. 93 Pts
