I was at the Cercle Rive Droite tasting on Friday, tasting a lot of 08's and 2010's. I talked to about 20 winemakers from Bordeaux and every singe one said 10 is a different vintage but better. However, everyone had a different answer for the style vs the 09's which I thought was interesting. Everyone was in agreement that 2010 has higher acidity, more tannins and more alcohol. However not all agreed that it was more concentrated(which did not really makes sense). I tasted about 20-25 2010's and my first impression is that it is a comparable vintage to 09 that I tasted last year at en primeur, very different but just as good. I would not be able to say the it is a "better" vintage. The Clos l'eglise was my favorite 2010 and in my opinion better than the 09 which scored 96-100. I am a huge fan of the 08's and most impressed me just as they did at the UGCB tasting. I still think 08's are the best values of all time!! They are running out so buy them fast!
