Vieux Château Certan (Pomerol)
Masculine, structured and firm, with a lean to the secondary side of the aromatic style range, making it smell more like a Medoc than a Pomerol, with its tobacco and earthy notes. The wine was a bit Jekyll and Hyde, depending on the sip, as it alternated between beefy, tannic and drying to hints of structured, polished and even plummy with cocoa.
