    Default TN 1989 Pichon Lalande

This may be my best bottle yet of this. It has only been open for a few hours, but it is so darn good that I simply cannot wait any longer to post on it! Beautiful, wafting nose of wet earth, tobacco, sweet red fruit, black tea, and pencil. One of those noses that the instant you pull the cork, you know that you have something very special on your hands. The palate moves the goalposts with its incredible richness. Candied cassis, cinnamon, black tea, brier, menthol, tobacco, and a lush pencil finish. Wow! The score in my head keeps going higher and higher - I may shock some folks. Completely sorted tannins and that velvet Lalande mouthfeel. Layer after layer of complexity. This now officially is my best bottle of this - a rock star! 97 Pts

I'll back you up on this one - I love Pichon Lalande and I love their '89! Worth every point. Man, that's nice wine. As always, loved your note - see you next month-

I really like 1989 Pichon Lalande. It's a beautiful Bordeaux wine. Perhaps, not quite as much as Jamie, but it's a darn tasty Pauillac that is drinking at its peak today.

    Marc, see you in June!

Jeff, this particular bottle was really singing. I hope that the remaining bottles show as well.
