    Default TN 2003 Chateau d'Yquem

Another incredible Yquem. Do not underestimate the potential of this wine - this is intense. The 01 is otherworldly, but this puppy is close behind, and in time it may be difficult to differentiate the two. The giveaway would be the lift and laser-like focus of the 01. The nose on the 03 is all that you could ask for - pineapple, honey, pear, mango, peach, and a really cool spiciness. Also some very faint lanolin. The palate is rich and fat with all of the mentioned flavors, and also some traces of oak. The mouthfeel is still a little thick, and this needs time to shed some more fat. But make no mistake, this is Yquem through and through and this is an utterly brilliant wine. 96+ Pts

Jamie, I really like this Yquem tooo. But I prefer the 2001 Yquem. I find that the 2003 is richer, but it does not have the same level of acidity found in the 2001.

I'm with Alex on this. I love 2003 Yquem. It's rich, aromatic and has great purity, but it could use a bit more acid to give it lift. It reminds me the 1990, but more concentrated.

Alex and Jeff, I voted with my wallet yesterday and went out and bought more of the 01.

I find the 03 Yquem lacks acidity to balance all the fruit and sweetness, so I much preffer the 2001, its in a different league all together....
