An obsession with wine!!

My first post on this new Forum,which I wish all the best,as there is certainly a need for a new Forum now that the Parker site has gone subscription only.
Have often wondered(as has my wife)why I spend so much of my time,drinking,writing ,buying and generally discussing wine.
For example,in last month,I have bought 14 cases of fine wine,mainly because I have read very favourable tasting notes from palates I trust,including Jeff Leve. And yet I am at an age now,where I have absolutely no chance of drinking the wine I already own,even though my consumption,is far higher than your average wine drinker.
Hope I am not alone out there!!!

Bewitching words, Keith. A while ago I read that British Wine Collectors have the tradition to collect wines for their childs. I deeply admirer this tradition, as we don´t have it in Germany. So, your girls will love you for this.

Maybe Martin although I suspect when I pop off,my missus will contact David Wainwright or Linden Wilkie to arrange the sale of the cellar contents Actually,shall ensure that my will does provide for a nice party with WP forum members and other wine loving friends.-----pity is I will not be there myself!!

Keith- I hear you. My wife strongly encouraged me to stop buying wine 2 years ago after accumulating way more than I can drink over the next 20 years but I leveraged a cello out of the deal!
