Somebody needs to quit fiddling with the knobs - we have lost some more threads from yesterday and before.
Best, Jim

Hi Jim

My deepest apologies. Nothing was lost from yesterday, at least from our end. But some threads and posts were lost from a few days ago due to a series of major technical updates. I wrote this post March 9 explaining it.

Posted March 9

I am sorry about the posts and threads from the past 36 hours that were deleted. Several technical advances for the site and the home page took place late last night. In the process of fixing things, some posts and threads were deleted. I apologize. I should not be allowed to do these changes on my own! :D But someone has to do it.

On the bright side, The Wine & Food Talk forums are now set to work with Iphones and other types of Mobile devices, whicch woill continue to gain in popularity. We are linked with Facebook. This allows you to sign in using your Facebook account and post directly to Facebook. We are now linked with Cellartracker as well. You can post from Cellartracker directly from Cellartracker.

I have been working really hard to get the technical side of things correct and I think that is now fixed. I am not most technical person, so getting together is not easy for me.

I know most of the people posting on the site know me personally. I truly appreciate your being here. You have a lot of choices on where you want to have your online experiences. It means a lot to me to have you here.

On Monday, I tasted about 30 barrel samples of 2010 Bordeaux. I will try and post on those later today or first thing in the morning. At the tasting, I spent a lot time speaking with different chateaux owners and many will be joining the forums, a few at a time. What this means is that at any given moment, you will have access to some of the best talent in Bordeaux and in other wine areas. I hope that experience and the lack of animosity in this community will allow you to spend more time on the board.

Now that we are set technically, please tell your friends about the forums.

Thank you again. If you have any questions about the site or the changes, please let me know

Jeff,
A post of mine called Recent Notes is missing since yesterday as is the one where you and Howard disucss the 'vintage of the century' term.
Best, Jim

Jim... You are correct. Those and a few others were forever swallowed into the computer abyss. Hopefully, the really cool technical improvements were worth the sacrifice. Again, I am sorry for that. It was my fault and it should not happen again.

I archive my notes and will report.
